Dear Friends of Camping Ministries,
The anticipation of summer is upon us, and we know that special times will soon be created at our amazing Camp and Retreat Centers including Chestnut Ridge, Don Lee and Rockfish.
Campers and staff will make discoveries and find renewal in ways that only a camp experience can provide. Relationships will be established and renewed; faith walks will be strengthened; and new skills and confidence will be revealed as campers embark on an experience of a lifetime!
We all know that the list of options for summer activities grows every year for our young people; yet we hear story after story of children, youth, parents and pastors CHOOSING CAMP above all else! One such amazing story follows:
A young boy found himself in a situation recently in his home life whereby he was having to move to New York with his mom after job loss and divorce in his family. As a part of the move, they held a yard sale at which the boy sold his toys. He made $148, and his mom asked what he wanted to do with his earnings.Without hesitation, he said that he wanted to go to camp one more time before moving. His mom granted him his request, and with his yard sale earnings, paired with scholarship funding from the Myra Morris Campership Fund, this child experienced camp one more time, strengthening his faith and growing in his relationships and confidence.
That’s how it is with God’s love…
…once you experience it, the choice is easy! Throughout the many and varied activities found at camp including sailing, ziplining, swimming, morning watch, and sharing meals, God’s love is evident, and the camp experience triggers the impassioned desire to Pass It On.
YOU can help us pass it on by supporting the 2012 Pass It On Annual Fund with a financial gift. Make a pledge or send in a gift, and then say a prayer that God’s love will be revealed to our young people through the camp experience at these amazing places.
