The Chestnut Ridge Equestrian Center is ideally situated on 362 beautiful acres of rolling hills and hardwood forests in Efland, NC. Founded in 1959, Chestnut Ridge has been supported by the United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Horses have been part of the camp's identity since the very beginning. Now registering for the 2012 BU District Confirmation Retreat!

We're lining up a terrific set of speakers and activities for the Burlington District Confirmation Retreat at Chestnut Ridge February 10-12, 2012. Speakers and leaders include Gayle Felton, Jan Thornton-Irvine, Bill Gattis, Nick Jeffries, Bryan Faggart, and Rebecca Gurney. Worship music will be provided by Matt Poole, guitarist for PS151. Plenary and workshop topics include teaching and discussion about baptism, scripture, service, worship, Methodism, and Christian life. Activities include worship, small group break out sessions, stole making, music, service and traditional camp fun

Footprints Youth Missions

Footprints has changed lives around North Carolina for years, and Camp Rockfish is excited to be part of this great program’s next chapter. We know that youth groups do not need to cross the ocean to go on a true mission trip; their mission can begin in their backyard. The Footprints program is a short-term trip that can have an amazing long-term impact for all involved. Camp Rockfish is ready to continue that mission. The new Footprints will contain a blend of both service projects off-site and Rockfish staff-led activities on-site.

As Christians, we are called to care for those in need. Footprints gives us a chance to not only do that, but to share in that mission with youth from all over the country. Camp Rockfish takes this calling very seriously, and has developed a program that also infuses the service work with a dose of fun to create a program that helps youth to develop spiritually and socially.

The groups will begin each day with a self-led Bible study. Groups will then spread out to their respective work sites, serving throughout the day before reconvening back at camp for an evening of activities and fun. All meals will be provided by Camp Rockfish, including pack out meals at the different ministry sites.

Themed Dinners

Each night our residential campers will enjoy different theme dinners with music, games, costumes and more! Our themes might be Beach/Hawaiian, Blast from the Past, Cowboys and Pirates and more. Campers are encouraged to bring clothing and costumes that will go along with each theme. Our returning summer staff came up with this idea at their pre-camp meeting and are really excited about implementing the new summer camp dinner themes and making this the best summer yet!

Chestnut Ridge is hosting a Trail Run on Saturday, Nov 17 2012.

Location
The race will be run on the trails at Chestnut Ridge Camp & Retreat Center. The course is approximately 4 miles and will feature rolling hills through old hardwood forests. Walkers are welcome too!

10am Trail Run start time

Early packet pick-up and registration will take place at Bull City Running http://www.bullcityrunning.com/ on Nov 16th from 4pm to 6:30pm.
Race day registration and packet pick up
