Vital Volunteerism PDF Print E-mail
Written by Dail Ballard

The sun has barely risen over the crisp morning peeking through the trees bringing light to the tasks of the day. Members of area churches have gathered on the stoop of the dining hall in anticipation of the nourishment they are about to receive – nourishment that will energize their bodies for the day ahead. That energy is fueled so that these very dedicated volunteers can optimally focus and participate fully in the volunteer opportunities that abound at each camp.

Volunteers at the NC United Methodist Camp & Retreat Ministries’ sites are the very backbone of our existence, the foundation of our mission and the guiding light of our ministry. They are our neighbors; they are our friends; they are our prayer partners; they are our donors. They are numerous, and they are true blessings to this camp and retreat ministry.

Volunteerism in our Methodist Camps provides supplemental support on a daily basis. Participation and progress on various projects about the camps are on-going and provided tirelessly by our volunteers. Whether seated around a table for a meeting, up on a roof with a hammer or amongst our campers and guests, our volunteers bring a new dimension to all our endeavors, all with an intense sentiment of Christian hospitality.

Call today to see what opportunities await you at camp as a volunteer!
