Half Week Nature Camp

New this year!

Cost $240
For those completing grades 1 and 2

Available Dates:
August 3-6

Calling all nature lovers! Nature campers will have the opportunity to experience a variety of nature activities everyday in addition to participating in traditional Camp Don Lee activities such as swimming, canoeing, sailing, and crafts. Campers will dig for shark’s teeth in our fossil pile, handle our friendly snakes and turtles that live in our nature hut and search for creatures all around camp. Campers will also participate in a sea turtle program and learn about and touch a real live sea turtle! Nature campers will have an amazing experience building relationships with God, new friends and God's awesome creation!

Marine Science Camp

Cost $575
For those completing Grades 3-7

Dates:
June 29 – July 5
July 27 – August 2

This one-week session is an introduction to the fascinating world of Marine Science. Campers will have a variety of hands-on experiences including exploring the Neuse River, dissecting squids and handling the friendly marine invertebrates, reptiles, and amphibians that live in our nature hut. Campers will also take a trip on a Duke Marine Lab research vessel to collect fish and marine inverts, visit the NC Maritime Museum, explore a barrier island beach and spend a night at the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. Marine Science campers will never forget their week of amazing encounters and exciting experiences!! This program also includes regular camp activities such as sailing and swimming, archery and a whole lot more!

Adventure Camp

For those completing grades 7 – 10
July 13-19th

Looking for adventure? Then Camp Don Lee’s one-week Adventure Camp is the place for you! Campers will get a good look at the Neuse River from their boats as they set sail on an overnight sailing adventure in addition to enjoying the view from above while parasailing on the river. Campers will also kayak to Cape Lookout (from Harker’s Island) for a 2-night camping adventure that includes snorkeling, enjoying fun in the sun on the beach and a day-trip to Shackelford Island to search for wild horses. Adventure campers will have some amazing offsite adventures, and still spend quality time at Camp Don Lee. Campers will set up a tent camping site at Don Lee, eat meals in the dining hall while on site and participate in regular camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, archery and small group activities.

Coast Runners -Outerbanks Lighthouse Tour

And away we go! Here is the adventure of the summer! 16 campers, 2 counselors, 1 trip leader, a bus, and a whole lot of destinations equal an unforgettable week. We will begin at Camp Don Lee and head South to Pine Knoll Shores for surfing in the Atlantic. There, we will start RUNNING up the Outer Banks. We will be camping, wind surfing, kayaking, sailing, hang gliding, museum hopping, hiking, team building, and intense Bible RUNNING! Don’t worry about lessons for any of these activities; they come with the adventure. Most equipment will also be provided like surfboards, windsurfers, kayaks, and hang gliding equipment. All rookies are welcome. You will have a full out, non-stop, hard playing time on this First Annual Coast Runners Trip. Come on, we will have a seat on the bus waiting for you!

This is a coastal adventure that includes stops at Cedar Island, Ocracoke, Cape Hatteres, Jockey’s Ridge and special spots in between. Full details available on the website.

Family Sailing Schools

Cost $150 per adult
$75 for children 7-17 years old.
October 17-19th

This weekend sailing program is the basic learn to sail weekend course formatted to work with families or adult and child combinations. The child must be at least seven years old and will be in the care of the parent throughout the weekend. We will provide instruction and experience for each participant at a level related to their need. This is a course that is basic and does not include advanced skills. Come on – learn to hoist a sail and boost the confidence of a child all at the same time!
