The NC United Methodist Camp & Retreat Ministries, Inc. is a non- profit, 501(c)(3) tax exempt, corporation related by faith to the North Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. The corporation was chartered in 1992 to own and operate camp and retreat centers formerly owned by the United Methodist Conference.

Our mission is to provide and promote Christian camping and outdoor ministries to all ages. We provide facilities, programs, and outdoor opportunities for group and individual experience, and time apart to enable growth in a relationship with God in the natural world.

Summer Residential Camping

Part of the growing up process for young people involves spending time away from home. Summer camp is still an outstanding choice with very special opportunities and experiences, which can help them along their individual paths to adulthood.

Church camping provides an experience of Christian community where campers are valued as creations of God and helped to understand and appreciate their worth and relationship to God, their group and others; in fact, their relationship to the whole created order. Through a Christian curriculum, the educational ministry of church camping involves campers in developing self-understanding, self-acceptance and self-fulfillment. Campers are guided to the celebration of community and life as a Christian.

To the achievement of this end, we have committed ourselves to the small group camping model. This means that in our camp settings, we try to create the Christian community in miniature where all the ingredients of life come into focus. Relationships with self, others, God and God's created world are the content elements of the program. Experience with self, others, curriculum and the environment are the education tools we employ.

Facilitation, proclamation and interpretation of the joy and fullness of life become our ministry. As we discover the universe, the system of nature, the patterns of life, the gifts of love and the excitement of a good, active day, then our ministry evolves.

The NC United Methodist Camp & Retreat Ministries, Inc., offers three different summer resident camping locations across the eastern half of the state - opportunities for young people to learn about themselves, their relationship with each other and most importantly, their growing relationship with God.
